November & So Much to be Thankful for
Am I the only one struggling to believe it’s already the second day of November? In some ways 2020 has been the looooooooongest year ever, but I’m still flabbergasted to be on the other side of Halloween and on in to the tail end of the year.
We’re staring down the prospect of Thanksgiving with just our little family of 5, which would be the smallest thanksgiving I’ve ever been a party to. We are sad not to be able to gather with family or friends this year, but with COVID and distance, it just didn’t seem safe or smart for us. Still, there is so much to be thankful for.
We’re going to be spending the month cultivating our attitude of gratitude. For each day of November I’ll share something I’m grateful for and how we’re teaching that thankful mindset to our little ones.
Yesterday (Nov 1) I was thankful for the beautiful sunny day that allowed us to enjoy a wonderful hike in the Black Forest just minutes from our home and some playground time. After snow last week, bright sun and mid 60 degree temps are to be celebrated and enjoyed!
Also for the joy that matching my children provides me. On our hike Magnus complained that his tennis shoes were getting a little too “pinchy” and sure enough, he was ready for the next size so while out doing grocery and supply pickups I was able to pop-in and get matching Nikes for all three littles. I don’t know why this fills me with so much happiness, but it absolutely does!

What are you grateful for today?
