Working From Home: Winter wardrobe
Most office workers at my company have been working from home since the first week of March. I’ve been working from home about 75% of the time since Aaron got out of Officer Training School in 2018. Pre-COVID, I spent most of my time working remotely and the other 25% of traveling on business. But even working from home has changed significantly since COVID started and everyone went online, my meetings went from VOIP conference calls to Zoom with video.
Before I was on video (and if we’re honest for several months after) I generally skipped makeup and kept my uniform pretty basic (t-shirt I slept in, shorts, and flip flops) but after a while the monotony was demoralizing. It turns out I feel better about myself when I spruce up just a tiny bit.
As the weather chills here in Colorado, I’m leaning into cute, comfortable winter wear.
My current favorites for bottoms are the Old Navy Elevate Leggings (they have side pockets!) and they are so comfortable.
For tops I’m loving simple and basic crewnecks and these comfortable but a little bit more polished Valentina button-ups from LulaRoe topped with a nice blanket scarf like this one from J Crew or this Woolrich one (I got mine on Poshmark where they seem to have a lot of them)
On the really cold days, I break back out my Uggs, which I have been wearing, honest to god for 18 years, but most days I just wear my Nikes.
Then I just top it off with a nice headband like these from J Crew (pink, tartan, gold). I find the headband really elevates my daily wet-hair top-knot and one of my new frames from Zenni (blue, black)
Are you working from home? Do you have a winter work uniform? It’s okay if you’re working a Zoom-mullet (professional on top, sweatpants on the bottom), 2020 is weird!
